This bbq chicken recipe isn't saucy like your typical baked barbecue chicken. The homemade bbq sauce is thin and bakes right into the chicken as it cooks.

Instructions to make BBQ Baked Chicken:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350
  2. Spray or butter pan, to keep chicken from sticking.
  3. Bake chicken, skin side down (without sauce) for 30 min.
  4. Remove chicken and add sauce.
  5. Bake for another 15 min.
  6. Remove chicken again, add more sauce.
  7. Bake 10 more mins.
  8. Remove and flip chicken, this time adding sauce to skin side.
  9. Bake 10 more mins.
  10. Chicken should be done, if not, bake another 10 mins.

This isn't a very bold style sauce which makes pair up great with just about any side dish. I like to cook the chicken on a metal rack over a baking sheet to allow even heat and continuous airflow on all sides. This helps prevent soggy skin. (Note that while the chicken picks up a nice "grilled" flavor from the broiler, the skin probably won't get quite as crispy.) Easy Baked BBQ Chicken.
